Amy started My Hair Helpers in 2009 after facing head lice in her own family and discovering how harsh, expensive, and ineffective the available options were. She built the company she wished had existed: natural products, gentle clinicians, honest flat-rate pricing, and no judgment.
Sixteen years later, that is still the whole idea. Lice is not about being dirty, and no parent should be made to feel ashamed of it. We teach families how to stay Lice Free Forever.

Common questions
What worried parents ask us first
Does having lice mean my child has dirty hair?
No. Head lice have nothing to do with hygiene or cleanliness — they actually attach just as easily to clean hair. Lice spread through direct head-to-head contact, which is simply what happens when children play together. You did nothing wrong.
How fast can you see us?
Usually the same day. We are open seven days a week from 7:00 AM to 11:30 PM, evenings included, because lice is rarely discovered at a convenient hour. Call 310-874-4550 and we will find you a time.
Are your treatments really chemical-free?
Yes. We use our own line of natural, non-chemical products — no pesticides and no harsh insecticides. They are safe for children and safe to repeat, which matters because many over-the-counter treatments are neither.
Can my child go back to school afterward?
Yes — immediately after treatment, in nearly every case. We will give you documentation for the school nurse if your district requires it, and we can advise on your school's specific lice policy.
How much does it cost?
We charge a flat rate based on the level of infestation, never an hourly fee that grows while you watch. Full details are on our family-friendly pricing page — unlike most lice companies, we publish our prices.
